Base Village, el 6,200

In the past decade alone, Squaw Valley has invested over $60 million in on-mountain improvements and enhancements. This season Squaw Valley is improving the resort experience with a focus on beginner services and facility improvements. The resort kicks off the 2004-2005 winter with a new beginner double chairlift, a second "Magic Carpet" transport lift for the Squaw Kids Children's Center, a new fleet of K2 skis for the rental shops, extensive environmental enhancement projects, restroom and facility renovations, a new restaurant and new shopping options.

High Camp, el 8,200'

Enjoy uninterrupted views of Lake Tahoe and the High Sierra, ice skate at the Olympic Ice Pavilion, travel back in time and learn a little more about the 1960 Winter Olympic Games at the Olympic Museum, slip and slide the afternoon away at the Snowtubing Arena or relax at the Poolside Umbrella Bar and soak up the sierra sun in the Swimming Lagoon & Spa (opens March 20, 2004 for the spring and summer).

High Camp is also the gateway to most of Squaw Valley's beginner terrain. Here skiers and snowboarders will find scenic views and plenty of wide open gentle slopes on which to hone their skills. From High Camp Squaw Valley's professional Ski & Snowboard school offers group lessons every hour, on the hour, through the innovative "Ski Your Pro" program.

Gold Coast, el 8,200'

At the top of North America's only Funitel you'll find Gold Coast, Squaw Valley's upper mountain crossroads and gateway to two half-pipes and terrain parks at Central Park. Complete with three restaurants levels, sundecks and views of expansive open bowls, Gold Coast is a great place to relax with friends and family between runs.

Night Skiing: Mountain Run - 3.2 miles in length - with 2,000 vertical ft. of groomed intermediate terrain. Access is provided via our warm, fully-enclosed Cable Car.
Central Park, in the Riviera Pipe and Park, is open nightly throughout the season . Please call (530)583-6955 to confirm operations.

Rentals/Demos

Squaw Valley Ski Rental and Performance Center offers an extensive fleet of rental skis, boots and high-performance skis, including Rossignol, K2, Saloman, Atomic and Nordica. Rental shops are located in the Far East Center and the base area. Alternative Edge in the Olympic House offers a huge selection of rental snowboards, plus telemark skis and snowshoes.

Children's rental equipment is also available at the Children's Center for children participating in SquawKids Programs.
We also rent snowshoes and Telemark skis.

Ski & Snowboard Lessons

Skiing is a sport of progression, the better you get, the more fun you have. It is in this spirit of fun that the Squaw Valley Ski School has thoughtfully designed each lesson, clinic and work shop to maximize the skiing experience. The Ski Your Pro format offers two hour lessons (for levels 1-7) that start every hour on the hour. A variety of lesson packages are available so guests may create an educational experience that is just right for them. For details call Ski School at (530) 581-7263

Skating, Snowtubing & Swimming

Olympic Ice Pavilion:

Come experience the exhilaration of ice skating from the top of the world! 11:00am to 4:00pm until December 15, then 11:00am -9:00pm until April 7, 2007, and 11am to 4pm, April 8, 2006 until the end of the 2006-2007 season

Snowtubing Arena:

Come cruise the white stuff on our custom snowtubes. If you've never "tubed" before, it's a blast. Our tubing park is located at High Camp, at the top of the Cable Car. The course is exciting, yet not too extreme, and suitable for the whole family. Two lanes are offered, one is easier and the other a bit more aggressive. The High Camp Tube Arena includes its own exclusive tubing lift, so you just hook on and ride back up - no trudging up the hill draggin' the tube! Open Daily: 11am - 3pm, weather permitting.

Swimming Lagoon:

The High Camp Swimming Lagoon & Spa is the centerpiece of our mountain-top oasis, featuring an enormous heated pool with lap lanes, islands,  waterfalls and fountains, and a huge (25+ person) Jacuzzi. Rates include towel and locker room use.

Swimming Lagoon and Spa is FREE with lift ticket or pass! Noon - 4pm. Please call ahead to confirm operation.

SquawKids Children's Center

Squaw Valley USA has a unique 12,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated specifically to the resorts younger guests. The Junior Mountain Program teaches children ages 7-12. The Snow School Program is designed for children ages 4-6 and the Snow Cubs for ages 3- young 4. Children of all abilities are welcome. Snowboard instruction is available for children ages 6-12. the facility offers a full-service rental shop, a private ski hill and 2 Magic Carpet Lifts to help with tired legs. All day programs include lunch. For more information call (530) 581-7225. Reservations encouraged call (530) 581-7166. The holiday dates for SquawKids Children's Center is as follows: Dec 26, 2005 - Jan 8, 2006 and Feb 18- Feb 26, 2006.
