the oldest ski resorts in the West, high atop Donner Summit, with an annual
average snowfall of 33 feet, you will find a variety of terrain and an

Historically Speaking:
Donner Ski Ranch was first utilized for skiing in 1937. The area's first rope
tow was located at the base of our current lodge and ran to a location
approximately 75 yards west of the current midway unloading ramp on Chairlift
#1. That rope tow was named Jerry Ellis. Jerry was the primary individual
involved in making the ski area a reality. Even though travel to the Donner
Summit area took two or three times longer than it does today, old time skiers
reported the popularity of this rope tow by recalling the long lift lines.
Today's resort is much improved from what it was in the early years but the
old time attitude and family ski hill atmosphere still exists at Donner Ski
Ranch.

- During Winter operation Donner Ski Ranch is open at 8:00am through 5:00pm daily with the chairlifts operating from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Ski & Snowboard Rentals
Donner Ski Shop opens daily at 8:00am. Our experienced staff will prepare you for a fun
filled day of snowboarding or skiing. The retail shop offers
all accessories needed including goggles, sunglasses, gloves, sunscreen and more.
Tee-shirts, and souvenirs are also available. Our rental technicians will outfit you with
a snowboard or skis and our experienced repair shop staff can tune or wax your equipment
while you wait. |

Mountain Sports School Lessons
- Mountain Sports School - Ski/Snowboard Value Package
- Our excellent instructors will teach you how to ski or ride with the
latest teaching techniques, making your experience as enjoyable as
possible. Our “learn to” package includes equipment rental, an “all
chair” lift ticket, and a 1½-hour group lesson. Lessons meet: at 9:00am,
10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:00pm.

- Group Lesson pricing is based on ages 7 and above.
- Ski or Snowboard
- Adults (13+) - $60.00
- Child (7-12) - $46.00
- Private Instruction
- Individual instruction is the fastest and easiest way to learn
snow sports.
- Private lessons start at $70 (1 hour) with an additional $20 for
each extra person (up to three add-ons).
- Add-ons are not available for lessons for children under 7.
- Have your own ski or snowboard equipment?
- Take a 1 1/2 hour group lesson for only $26.00
