Recreation Center fitness instructors. If you are interested in shaping up
or cross training for a school sport then this is the class for you. You

- At least two whole hours of fun for you and your youngster... Open play
is the perfect solution for children needing to burn off some energy. Kids
can start out by bouncing down the 15’ long tumble track into the Ball Pit
filled with 5000 balls! Then they can navigate through tunnels, climbing
obstacles, and the giant crayon balance beam. When they’ve had enough
gymnastics they can move over to the giant Play Room filled with soft foam
blocks, bean bag chairs, toys, and the play hut tunnel system. As if that
weren’t enough they can express themselves through art and music in the 3rd
room known as the Arts and Crafts Room. Let your child color all over the
chalk board painted wall or rearrange the alphabet on the fully magnetic
wall. Every Monday and Friday there is a new art project that will be led by
an instructor and displayed for all others to see!

- The group formed by guitarist and songwriter Jeff Tweedy in the
mid-1990s. 2009 will see the release of a new studio album – their seventh.
It follows their Grammy nominated 2007 recording Sky Blue Sky (which
followed their 2005 double Grammy winner A ghost is born.) Recordings have
been underway at the band’s Chicago studio, The Loft. The current plan is to
emerge from Chicago’s deep freeze with a completed album by the spring thaw
(which in Chicago could mean summer….)

Lake Tahoe residents and visitors can treat themselves to an incredible musical experience in a unique historical setting. The Valhalla Arts & Music Festival features weekly concerts at the Tallac Historic Site in South Lake Tahoe. The concerts take place in the Valhalla Boathouse Theatre, a restored 150-seat community theater originally built in the 1890's. Dances are held in the Valhalla Grand Hall. The concerts cover a range of music from classical music, folkloric music and dance, Swing, steel drums, jazz and Rhythm & Blues. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission varies per concert with pricing for adults, seniors and children. Tickets may be purchased at the door, but advance reservations are strongly recommended. Parking is available in the Valhalla lot or on Highway 89 by the tan barn.
