    • University of Nevada at Reno - Fleischmann Planetarium Science Center
      • The extraordinary inner workings of the human body are revealed in stunning detail as viewers journey through what may be the most intriguing frontier. In conjunction to the show, the planetarium presents a new interactive exhibit that invites visitors to examine how the body works using nine hands-on stations.

    • Topaz Lake Fishing Derby
      • The derby is open to anyone (21 years or older) with a valid fishing license. Tagged fish worth $50, $100, $500 and $1,000 are out there for the catching. Tagged fish should be taken to the Topaz General Store for verification by a Topaz Lodge official to receive the tagged amount instantly. Weekly winners will receive a cash prize for the largest trout weighing 2 pounds or more.

      • Jett formed the Blackhearts with guitarist Ricky Byrd, bassist Gary Ryan and drummer Lee Crystal. Their first release I Love Rock 'n Roll, became Jett's biggest success thanks to the title track which spent eight weeks at number one. It remains Billboard's Number 28 song of all time.

      • Having the opportunity to compete for your country is the ultimate reward for an athlete in any sport. For eight men and eight women bowlers each year, success at the USBC Team USA Trials means realizing that dream. The top four men and women in their respective divisions at the USBC Team USA Trials earn Team USA berths for that calendar year, along with four additional men and women who will receive at-large selections from the National Selection Committee following competition. Competitors roll 40 games over four days to determine who makes Team USA. First place in the men's and women's divisions are crowned the U.S. Amateur Champions.

    • TOCCATA presents Basically Barocco
      • TOCCATA, The Orchestra and Community Choral Artists of the Tahoe Area and James Rawie Artistic Director and Conductor, announce the first annual presentation of Basically Barocco, music of the 18th century with chorus, soloists and orchestra. The 2007 concerts will take place on Saturday at 7pm at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Incline Village and will be repeated on Sunday at 4 pm at South Lake Tahoe in St. Theresa Catholic Church. The Toccata Chamber Orchestra features Ginny Tilton as concertmaster and David Brock and as keyboard/continuo player. Toccata's Young Artist, Misha Raffee joins Ginny Tilton and Suzanne Stone as soloists in Archangelo Corelli s Concerto Grosso in G major Opus 6 #8, and Joel Munc performs Teleman s Concerto in G major for Viola and Strings. David Brock will perform the Handel Concerto for Organ and Strings Opus 4, #1. The finale will feature the Toccata Chorus performing selections from Vivaldi s Gloria. Vocal soloists include Lisa Hoopes and Joy Strotz, sopranos, Olivia Anderson and MaryAnn Helman, altos, and Stuart Duke, baritone. Maestro James Rawie will conduct both performances. Joining the Toccata Choir will be singers from Sierra Nevada College Choir, directed by Donna Axton, and The Tahoe Choir from South Lake Tahoe, directed by Linda Mitchell.

    • Reno Chamber Orchestra presents Alexander Ivashkin
      • Alexander Ivashkin, one of the most recorded cellists in the world, a performer in the inaugural Nevada Chamber Music Festival, and an expert on the music of the twentieth century, performs Dmitri Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 2. The concert will also feature music by Legrenzi.

      • South Lake Tahoe's Gay and Lesbian Ski Week. Here in the Blue World, you can enjoy some of the best skiing and riding in North America by day and by night, head to Blue Avenue, where you can leave your inhibitions at the door and revel in the energy of Lake Tahoe's 24-hour gaming and nightlife. South Lake Tahoe's Gay and Lesbian celebration is 24/7 non-stop action on and off the slopes. The celebration will include everything from the late-night wild antics of all night dance parties to the "Queen of the Mountain" competition at the no holds barred, Drag Race.
    • Harvey's Improv presents Comedians Bob Smith and Scott Kennedy
      • Bob Smith has the distinction of being the first openly gay comedian to appear on The Tonight Show and have his own HBO Special, The Bob Smith Comedy Half-Hour. Scott Kennedy is one of the founders of The Gay Comedy Jam, which the Hollywood Reporter said "…is the most successful gay comedy show to ever tour!" In 2005 Scott was named one of the 100 greatest all time comedians by Comedy Central.

    • JABRA Winter X-Jam – X-Games Qualifiers
      • The big event returns!! Extreme athletes and homeboys will go head to head for the last chance X-Games qualifier at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. For most extreme athletes an invitation to the X-Games is the highest honor in their individual sports. Athletes who have not already qualified for the upcoming competition in Skiercross and Boardercross will be duking it out at Sugar Bowl Jan 11-14. Both skiers and snowboarders, men & women, will battle for the final spots in hopes of making their debut for the largest extreme sporting event in the world. This is the only X Games qualifier in the US!

    • Great Ski Race Preparation Program
      • Heard of the Great Ski Race? Want to improve your time from last year? We will have a small group and work progressively through the season addressing technique, fitness, planning, race strategy and waxing. Each session will have technique and fitness focal points and we will also have a practice race to "iron out" any waxing and race-day issues.
      • Saturdays from 8:30-10:30am for 8 sessions. $120 per season pass holder ($150 for others). Trail passes are not included. Space is limited, and participants will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants should be physically fit, and skate ski at an intermediate or higher level.

    • Intermediate Skate Ski Improvement Series
      • Increase your efficiency, improve balance and gain confidence on downhills and have a better time on your skis. We will address all major skate techniques, plus some extras, to help you get an edge in a race, or just learn to float in all terrain.
      • Wednesdays from 8-10am for 6 sessions. $120.00 per season passholder, $150.00 for others. Trail pass not included. Space is limited. Sign up now. Participants should be intermediate level or higher.
  • January 14
    • Yoga Ski Workshop
      • Get the best of two worlds with a yoga and cross-country ski workshop presented by The Yoga Space and Tahoe Cross-Country. Includes a one and a half hour yoga class taught by Rebecca Kinelski at The Yoga Space in The Cobblestone in Tahoe City.  Then drive to Tahoe XC for a one hour skate skiing class taught by Tim Hauserman, applying the principles of yoga to the snow. After class join your instructors for a no host lunch at the new Free Heel Cafe.

    • The Tahoe City Classic 15km Diagonal Stride Race.
      • Race fees - $15.00 for pass holders pre-registration. $20.00 pre-registration for non-pass holders and $25.00 on Race Day.
      • 10am start, sponsored by Sierra Nordic Cross Country Ski shop. Volunteers are needed - it's fun and we will feed you lunch!
