shares Skiing Everest with us. In August of 2006, Jimmy Chin, Kit and Rob
DesLauriers headed to Mt. Everest to attempt a post-monsoon ski descent of
Mount Everest's South East Ridge. Along with Dave Hahn and a crack team of
hand picked Sherpas, they spent over two months acclimitizing and climbing
on the flanks of Chomolungma. They summited on October 18th, stepped into
their ski bindings and carved turns off the summit. Jimmy Chin will present
film and photography from the expedition. Please join us at the cafe for an
early bird dinner starting at 5:30pm.

- Telemark 1-Day Camp
- Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe Center Northstar® Resort is offering
one-day Telemark Camps to those looking to learn, improve or perfect
their technique. These all-day camps have a relaxed, student-centric
approach where the participants help dictate the direction. Each level
will focus on being more efficient skiers making for easier, more fluid
skiing though level appropriate drills. Students will be evaluated and
placed in groups appropriate to their experience level. Groups will
practice and learn drills, receive feedback, video analysis and a
personal program for improvement. Camps will follow PSIA standards, and
copies of PSIA manuals will be provided. Camps cost includes: One-day
all access lift ticket 4 hours of instruction Video analysis PSIA manual
Class ratio of less then 6 to 1 Use of demo equipment (if needed) Lunch
voucher valid for up to $14. Lunch break from 12-1pm where videos shot
during morning will be reviewed, followed by afternoon video review.
Participants should be at the Cross-Country Ski & Snowshoe Center by 9am
for an introduction and any equipment needs. Three levels of clinics are
offered, with group levels determined with a practice run to ensure
participants are placed in the right class. Beginners: Clinic focus -
proper stance, weight distribution, utilizing beginner slopes
Intermediates: Clinic focus - correcting bad habits, using the rear ski
(inside ski) Advanced: Clinic focus - skiing any slope, any condition.

- Downhill Clinic
- Get a new lift on cross-country skiing with this 3-hour on snow
clinic focusing on mastering the downhill technique. Open up new
terrain choices by improving your ability to control your speed and
direction. Check-in at the Ski School desk at Summit Station at
9:00am for registration. Clinic starts promptly at 10:00am and
concludes at 1pm. $55 with a trail pass, $65 if you need to include
rental equipment, and $35 for season pass holders.

- SLPOA & DSAA Ski Tour 2
- Sign up for our SLPOA, DSAA complimentary ski tour. Lunch,
rentals and trail pass will be provided. Advanced reservations are
required as space is limited. Registration starts at 9:00am and tour

- Ski the Huts
- Challenge yourself and friends to a one-day ski of the Royal
Gorge warming huts. How many can you get to in the five and a half
hour time frame? Collect a ticket in each hut you visit and turn in
for rewards, raffles and prizes at 3:00pm. Registration starts at
9:00am, and skiing starts at 9:30am. $30 includes your trail pass
and entry fee, $10 for season pass holders.

- Great Ski Race Preparation Program
- Heard of the Great Ski Race? Want to improve your time from last
year? We will have a small group and work progressively through the
season addressing technique, fitness, planning, race strategy and
waxing. Each session will have technique and fitness focal points
and we will also have a practice race to "iron out" any waxing and
race-day issues.
- Saturdays from 8:30-10:30am for 8 sessions. $120 per season pass
holder ($150 for others). Trail passes are not included. Space is
limited, and participants will be chosen on a first-come,
first-served basis. Participants should be physically fit, and skate
ski at an intermediate or higher level.

downhills and have a better time on your skis. We will address all
major skate techniques, plus some extras, to help you get an edge in
