Mountain Users must recognize that there are inherent risks in winter sports, including those posed by changing snow conditions and coverage of obstacles. ON SITE LODGING! For just $79 per person per night, escape to Boreal, and receive a free lift ticket for each guest. (based on double occupancy, includes 1 lift ticket per person) The Boreal Inn is just 1/4 mile from the ski lifts and offers spacious rooms that can accommodate up to 4 people. All Mountain Terrain Park: Boreal Mountain Resort boasts the first all-mountain terrain park in Northern California. Boreal's terrain parks consist of 100 rails, jumps and funboxes for every ability. The Resort’s capital investment to their all-mountain terrain park was scheduled at over $700,000. With a new Zaugg pipe cutter, Boreal will feature a 450-foot long superpipe, located off the Accelerator Express Quad Chair on the Race Course run. In addition, Boreal added two new grooming machines to the parks, 50 rails, 50 snow features and extensive staffing.

Night Skiing/Riding: One of the only resorts in the area to offer night skiing/boarding, night terrain parks and a fully lit half-pipe. Night lift tickets go on sale at 3:15pm and riding is open till 9:00pm post Thanksgiving into April. Operation may be altered due to extreme weather.

Night Hours run post Thanksgiving through March, weather permitting. Resort closes at 4:00pm when night skiing/boarding is not in operation. Operating hours and prices may change without notice. Snow bikes are not allowed at Boreal. Snow skates are allowed with leashes.

With an All Day Ticket you can ski or ride from morning until night, and with a Night Ticket you can enjoy the mountain under the lights for a fraction of the cost (3:30pm-9pm post Thanksgiving through March). Boreal also offers a Parent Shared Ticket that allows adults to share a single pass, so parents can balance time with their toddlers. College students, sweat your exams but don’t sweat your lift ticket fees, ride Friday’s at Boreal with your college student ID for just $15. Armed Forces - Check with your Outdoor Recreation Office for discounted lift tickets. We also offer $15 lift tickets on Fridays for all active military with a valid ID. (Holiday restrictions include 11/25/11, 12/23/11 & 12/20/11).

Equipment Rentals

Equipment Rentals: Boreal's state-of-the-art rental facility is under one roof. On the first floor of the main lodge you'll find one-stop shopping for all your ski/snowboard rental needs, lift tickets, lesson packages and kid's club packages! Boreal offers one of Tahoe's largest rental programs. High performance equipment and repair services offered daily.

Boreal offers free ski/snowboard check for all Boreal rental equipment. If you are not renting, we encourage you to use this service for just $2.00.

A credit card is required as a deposit on all rental equipment. Please allow at least one-hour prior to lesson time for rental process.

Ski or Snowboard Lessons

Beginner and experienced skiers and snowboarders can take advantage of Boreal’s professional instructors. Skiers/boarders can purchase packages for group or private lessons. The beginner lift ticket allows beginners to ride the New Moving Carpet, Nugget, Gunnar’s, Claimjumper and Discovery chairlifts. NO RUSH! During peak weekends and holidays (Christmas/New Year’s week, Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, and President’s Weekend).

Everything For Kids

The Boreal Kids Club is a great way for kids’ ages 4–12 to learn to ski and snowboard. The Kids Club is designed to teach children of all abilities to ski and snowboard so your child can learn at the pace that best suits him/her (snowboarding is available for children over 8 years old only). Full-Day Kids Club Participants: On the day of arrival go directly to the Rental Cashiers where they will process your payment and you will receive your child's lift ticket. You will then head directly to Kids Club for check-in between 9:00am-9:40am. There your child will be fitted with their equipment and will meet the other children joining in their lesson.

Kids Club packages include all day lift pass, all day equipment rental and lesson. Helmets are required for Kids Club lessons. Parents are encouraged to bring your own, or can rent helmets for $5.00.

We're Closer!! Boreal is close and conveniently located atop Donner Summit just off Interstate 80. It's an easy drive. No less than four divided lanes of highway carve a direct route to our lifts.
