All Mountain Terrain Park: Boreal Mountain Resort opens the first and only all-mountain terrain park in Northern California this winter. Boreal boast terrain parks consisting of 100 rails, jumps and funboxes for every ability. The Resort’s capital investment to their all-mountain terrain park was scheduled at over $700,000. With a new Zaugg pipe cutter, Boreal will feature a 450-foot long superpipe, located off the Accelerator Express Quad Chair on the Race Course run. Boreal’s superpipe will be in-ground, allowing for an earlier target opening and a permanent foundation. In addition, Boreal has added two new grooming machines to the parks, 50 rails, 50 snow features and extensive staffing.

Night Skiing/Riding: One of the only resorts in the area to offer night skiing/boarding, night terrain parks and a fully lit half-pipe. Night lift tickets go on sale at 3:15pm and riding is open till 9:00pm post Thanksgiving into April. Operation may be altered due to extreme weather.

Night Hours run post Thanksgiving through March, weather permitting. Resort closes at 4:00pm when night skiing/boarding is not in operation. Operating hours and prices may change without notice.

With an All Day Ticket you can ski or ride from morning until night, and with a Night Ticket you can enjoy the mountain under the lights for a fraction of the cost (3:30pm-9pm post Thanksgiving through March). Boreal also offers a Parent Shared Ticket that allows adults to share a single pass, so parents can balance time with their toddlers. College students, sweat your exams but don’t sweat your lift ticket fees, ride Friday’s at Boreal with your college student ID for just $10. (Not valid the Friday after Thanksgiving and Christmas).

Equipment Rentals

Equipment Rentals: Boreal's state-of-the-art rental facility is under one roof. On the first floor of the main lodge you'll find one-stop shopping for all your ski/snowboard rental needs, lift tickets, lesson packages and kid's club packages! Boreal offers one of Tahoe's largest rental programs. High performance equipment and repair services offered daily.

Boreal offers free ski/snowboard check for all Boreal rental equipment. If you are not renting, we encourage you to use this service for just $2.00.

A credit card is required as a deposit on all rental equipment. Please allow at least one-hour prior to lesson time for rental process

Ski or Snowboard Lessons

Beginner and experienced skiers and snowboarders can take advantage of Boreal’s professional instructors. Skiers/boarders can purchase packages for individual, group or private lessons. The beginner lift ticket allows beginners to ride the New Moving Carpet, Nugget, Gunnar’s, Claimjumper and Discovery chairlifts. Beginner lessons are offered at 10:15am, 12:15pm and 2:30pm. NO RUSH! During peak weekends and holidays (Christmas / New Year’s week, Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, and President’s Weekend), Boreal offers beginner lessons continually throughout the day starting at 9:15am and running every hour through the 2:30pm lessons in a non-stop format which means when you get your gear, you start your lesson.

Everything For Kids

The Boreal Kids Club is great way for kids’ ages 4–10 to learn to ski and snowboard. The Kids Club is designed to teach children of all abilities to ski and snowboard so your child can learn at the pace that best suits him/her. We recommend that you register ahead of time to secure a place in the full day program. With a reservation you will be able to save time by going directly to the Kids Club outside entrance where your reservation will be on file.

Online reservations are only available for the full day session. To sign up for the half day lesson package, go directly to the rental shop, get your lesson, lift ticket and rental equipment and head straight out the rental shop doors to the Kids Club corral. Plan to arrive at the corral ten minutes prior to lesson time. Be sure to get to the rental area at least one hour prior to lesson time.

Kids Club packages include all day lift pass, all day equipment rental and lesson. Helmets are available for rent, just $5.00.

We're Closer !! Boreal is close and convenient located atop Donner Summit just off Interstate 80. It's an easy drive. No less than four divided lanes of highway carve a direct route to our lifts.
