Alpine Meadows Ski Resort
2011/2012
[Lift Tickets, Equipment Rental, Adult Instruction, Adaptive Ski School, Kid's Camp, Specialty Clinics]
A Historically Classic, Laid-Back, Unforgettable Mountain Experience for All Levels
"There is an energy at Alpine Meadows resort; a heartbeat. This mountain
mesmerizes us with perfect powder which lingers days after a storm; grants
moments of clarity on quiet traverses through snow covered pine trees; and
converts visitors to locals with seven open bowls, gentle, top-to-bottom
cruisers, and forested glades. Alpine Meadows mountain resort allows its
visitors to feel unabashed joy harbored in every soul’s inner child."
Studies have shown that people who connect with nature possess more inner peace. Maybe skiing or snowboarding through untracked powder on a crisp, bluebird morning allow for a little more consciousness of the present moment. Maybe while hiking to Alpine’s famed Estelle Bowl with a newfound chair lift friend reestablishes the importance of trust; or if you're snowboarding down a 50-degree pitch, all those trivial details of mundane life just don't matter anymore. Either way, it's all about priorities, and the common belief at Alpine Meadows is that connecting with the mountain is indeed a high priority.
Where did Alpine Meadows come from? Viewed from atop the peaks of the recent Olympic host, Squaw Valley, a group of San Francisco investors / avid outdoorsmen spied the beckoning valley to the south, and coveted powder turns down its wide-spanning powder bowls and evenly spaced juniper, western white, and aspen trees. Thus, Alpine Meadows opened in 1961, with the notion of offering a more relaxed atmosphere and family friendly experience than its glamorous, jet-setting neighbor.
For 44 years, Alpine Meadows has had a thrill and an adventure for anyone of any level. Kids ski and snowboard programs, one of the country’s greatest values, unmatched off-trail terrain, advanced terrain, and top-to-bottom groomed runs have all contributed to what both Ski & Skiing Magazines have acknowledged as one of the country’s top winter ski resorts.
Alpine’s regulars agree that adventure, camaraderie and physical challenges are not only fun and inspiring... they're necessary. For more than forty years Alpine Meadows has given the winter enthusiast the freedom to explore, the option to relax and the opportunity to make everlasting friendships that only the curious mountaineer of any ability level can appreciate.
It might border on cliché, but Alpine Meadows is an all-terrain vehicle to good times. In other words, all the mountain you could ask for, all the fun you can handle. Cruisers and glades, trails, bowls, and cornice-crowned chutes. Recent additions have made Alpine Meadows a family favorite, including a Sun Kid surface lift for Kids Camp, an interpretive nature trail, a family ski zone, teen tickets, parents' lounge, even money-saving interchangeable parents tickets. And in the age of instant gratification, we present an airborne fleet of triples and high speed quad, as well as our Summit Six Chair. Alpine Meadows - available in all shapes and sizes, all of which is why Skiing Magazine called us "A mountain with a distinctly split personality: a mild side and a wild side."
Living up to its reputation for offering a great mountain at a great
price, Alpine Meadows has been included in Skiing Magazine’s 2007 Resort
Guide as one of the country’s best mountains, and Transworld Snowboarding’s
2007 Resort Guide’s Top Ten for Value – Alpine ranked number 1 for best
return on your cash. Alpine Meadows Ski Resort is situated in the picturesque Tahoe National Forest, offers skiers and snowboarders 2,400 acres of skiable terrain. This season, come and experience the true meaning of winter recreation. Alpine's mild side - unique kid's programs, holiday races and a family ski zone - and Alpine's wild side - Tahoe's most famous open-boundary policy, guided out-of-bounds tours and waist-deep powder through old growth forests. Grab a piece of inner peace at Alpine Meadows.
